The calendar indicates that he didn’t take down the Christmas lights until February.

Even if Wiz straightened the lights, the strands will tango until all are tangled.

It’s a law of nature that electrical wires will always get tangled.

Even magic has its limits. Lights are designed to tangle.

That was invented in medieval ages? I never knews.

Is this why some people leave their lights up all year round?

What is that wand of yours for anyway?

What’s the difficulty? Stores sell little plastic thingies that are specially made to wrap Christmas lights neatly around. I have half a dozen and they keep all my lights conveniently corralled. All I have to do is unwind the lights onto the tree and wind them back up again after.

Just think of it as a Christmas tradition and go for a little nostalgic Christmas love. And, btw, it’s *Christ*mas, not Xmas. (A Count Olaf pet peeve).

It supposed to be a light hearted joke to string you along for tomorrow.

It makes sense. He’s already dealt with them once this year.

An annual tradition, Wiz?

In my household, even if the lights get untangled, they magically tangle up while in storage Don’t ask me how, it’s one of the great mysteries of the universe.

“Why do I do this to myself every year?”

Because you trained for it. You’re a PRO-crastinator.

Buy new lights each year. They’re cheap.

After the first time I coiled the lights neatly and then still had to go through the untangle process the next year, I gave up. I will spend 15 minutes trying to untangle lights and then either go buy new ones or do without. …humbug.

I always wrap up the lights over a wooden frame to keep them straight. Putting the lights up should be a joy each year, not a tedium.

I guess for the same reason that I do! ;o[

They are self tangling lights! It’s a plot to get you to buy new ones every year.

Buy a tree that comes with lights that never need to be removed. They are lifesavers. Or at least major time savers.

No worries – next year just grab both ends and yank real hard. Then you’ll need to go and buy new ones.

LOL, I use paper towel cardboard rolls to wrap around them, cover with a plastic bag, use a twisty tie, works great!

Always put off till tomorrow what could have been done last year.

I solved the tangled light problems years ago and have not had to deal with them since. Really simple solution, saves time and money… I quit celebrating the holidays so i no longer had to put up decorations.
