On one site they brought in hotdesking, then realised we needed VOIP phones so we could have our own extension at whatever desk we were at that day. Which meant logging in to the phone when you logged in to the PC.
As soon as you logged in to the phone, you then had to deal with the voicemail messages from people who had called when you were logged out. It did not take very long for everyone to realise that if you never logged in to your desk VOIP phone, not only did you not have to deal with messages, but nobody could ring you either. Win, win!
