Years ago I did a cartoon where a man is swearing to his wife that his doctor put him on a Sugar Pops diet. Then the cereal manufacturers started to drop the word ‘sugar’ from the names of their cereals and spoiled the gag. ‘Sugar Pops.’ It was the perfect name.

I learn about twinkie diets, cankles, and philtrums from online comics. I think I’m getting smarter, but my friends think I getting dumber and are keeping a distance. You guys are good for my mind, but destructive to my social life…Thanks, I think.

How do you say ‘pops’ in Spanish? Sugar is azucar, but is pops translatable?

It’s only real if it comes up on a Google search? Wikipedia definition for Diet includes “formal deliberative assembly” so the Twinkie Diet is actually the legislature for the Twinkie Nation.

But Watterson was a decade or two late in spoofing Sugar laden cereals. As we said before, the manufacturers became terrified of the word sugar. I liked Charlie Brown’s favorite cereal ’Snicker Snax." Kudos to those who know the source of that name. I made up a few cereals in Patty-Cake, and even some for Working Daze.

The “Twinkie Defense” didn’t work, either.

it works if you only eat twinkies at every meal, every day, and just 1 per meal per day. and, intense exercise.
