Carolina should just say the she liked the new Sulu, and leave off the comparisons. If she ever picks Janeway over Pickard, nerd on hottie violence will ensue.
That coupled with the idea that everything must be weighed in terms of either/or. How about saying they both make god Sulu’s for the purpose of the projects they were in? The original cast obviously could not do the new movie, but the cast that was assembled was well picked for the purpose. But the we wouldn’t have a gag for today.
So right about Karl Urban’s McCoy. He was a hoot to hear and watch. As was the over zealous/over excited playing of the Chekov character. .What I enjoyed about the “new” Enterprise was the creation of the new timeline. As Spock would say … So many possiblities. (I know, I paraphrased his Infinite possiblities line)
Since were talking casting. the new spock sucks. the new sulu is ok, but takei took it to an unanable lvl. you can’t replaced Bones but Karl did really good. Pine satisified for Kirk but shatner is invincible. As for montgomery scott. the new guy was funny but you cant forget the original and chekov well I prefer the new guy. and UHURA WELL uhura I like the new one ;)

Eh, I’m with Carolina on this one. I thought the new Sulu was the best part of the movie, except maybe for Spocks ship.
