Labor saving devices backfired on us badly. Companies now have raised their expectations as to how much work can be pumped out in the same time, by fewer people. I’ve said it before and Ill say it again: inventors are naive. They may be brilliant when it comes to systems and ‘things,’ but they understand nothing about human nature. They see only the positive applications of their wonderful inventions. They cannot foresee how they will be misused and abused.
Do you know how much time I spend with tech support trying to get my labor saving devises to do what they are suppose to do? (But I will say tech support rules!)
TSR, I presume that you hunt, kill, skin, and cook your own meat? Make your own paper? Hand-built your computer from parts you got at Radio Shack? Etc….
By the way, I realize that on a comment board it’s hard to tell a commenter’s tone. Some respond as though assuming that what they’ve read is an angry rant. Bear in mind: John and I are cartoonists. We say things with humor and irony. The entire world wide web seriously needs to lighten up.

If you didn’t catch it, “Lazarus” has been turned into “Lazaretto”, which is a hospital for contagious diseases. Cute.
After years of reading “Momma”, I decided she is a malicious, destructive, hateful person and I dropped the strip from my subscription years ago.
As for the anti-tech comments here, including from TSR, I’ll just say “Boo hoo, the world isn’t perfect, boo hoo.”

Charles Schulz wondered the same thing. when people would write in and critique- or criticize, or even reprimand him for some offense.

Trickle down economics worked! The money trickled down into the bank accounts of the corporations who elect the policy makers.

There is one. Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud. Very good book. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
