I had a job once as a typesetter and the first computer they gave me was a MAC with a 10 or 12 inch screen, or maybe smaller. I can tell you I have had shoe boxes bigger than that. That was in 1988 and I used that thing for about 2 years before they upgraded and let me have a real grown up computer with a 17 inch screen.
The Varityper was an early typesetting machine with changeable fonts. You can find pictures of them on Google Image Search. They look like typewriters with antlers.
The later varitypers (in the 1960s) had a different look, instead of keyboard imagine a one foot interchangeable transparent disk with letters around the edges. I used to use a competing product by Kroy to do the lettering for engineering drawings.
Comptometer is a mechanical calculator with column of keys for each digit. They can even multiply and divide besides add and subtract. I used to play with one from the 30s that my Dad’s cousin had when I was a kid. Hope Mrs. Jenson keeps hers well oiled.

Something Mordac from the Dilbert strip would do.

Mrs Jenson had better watch out. Rita may decide to auction off her Varityper here

I think it would be delicious irony if Dana’s brother hit on Mrs Jenson. LOL

I don’t follow. He wouldn’t hit on Mrs. J anyway.

Herbie can have her calculator too, since she prefers a slide rule!
