Charles Schulz wanted to name his strip “Good Ol’ Charlie Brown”, but the newspaper syndicate wanted to name it “Peanuts”, and they won the argument. Schulz did, however, use his preferred name on the Sunday strips as time went on by using the title, “Peanuts” featuring “Good Ol’ Charlie Brown”.
