Just because you work harder doesn’t mean you are more valuable to the company. Managers often fail to value efficiency and choose instead to value noise, rewarding the person who is always shouting about averting a crisis with hard work, despite the fact it is often their own inability to do things properly in the first place causing the said crisis – so want to get on make sure management hear about you doing heroic deeds averting issues that they should realise you made in first place.
