Its all very simple. I shut off all the automatic updates and background updates and then I ignore all the pop ups advising me to upgrade. I haven’t upgraded one app for so long that I can’t remember when the last one was that I did upgrade. All my apps, (which were called programs), work without a hitch, just like they were suppose to, when I got them.
This is only vaguely related. My fiance (husband) and I received a microwave oven from my parents as an engagement present 35 years ago. We still have it. It still works just as it did back then. I wonder how many new microwaves will work 35 years after they were bought?
Rita could get a job with Microsoft. When they update Windows, to keep up with technology, or for security reasons, they did not have to radically change the user interface like they did with Windows 8. Windows XP probably had the best UI. Should have kept that and make the tech and security upgrades “under the hood”.

Seriously! What is the deal, app makers? I’ve got an app on my Android tablet that won’t run anymore because it got updated once too many times.

They simply don’t know the golden rules : “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”

I hate to say it, but that thinking kinda explains a few GoComics “updates”.

I still wish that a whole lot of things in iTunes had been left alone. I remember the first time I seriously regretted taking the so-called upgrade.’

Not just Apple. Windows 8 was so radically different that everyone hated it with a passion.
