I still frequently go inside my local Barnes & Noble. Just purchased for friends “Star Trek: The Next Generations Cats,” “Jonesy — Nine Lives on the Nostromo,” and, for a friend’s birthday on Friday, the new Monkees Christmas album.

Le sigh.

I was on the B&N web sight looking for a book. They only had the electronic version! Not what I shop them for.

Cause and effect at work. Still love the feel of a good book and not having to find a charging connection after a couple of days.

If they weren’t so overpriced maybe that wouldn’t happen so often. Snobbery is only worth so much.

Just bought a new Terry Brooks book tomorrow add to my collection from B&N

I go online to read reviews and summaries to decide if I might like a book enough to go to a store to purchase it.

Book store? I don’t need a book store. I have a book.

I don’t buy books anymore. I borrow them from the library. I still have over 100 books of my own that I want to read again before donating them to the library, but it is getting difficult because I keep finding new ones that I don’t own that I want to read. I also have given some of the books that I had owned to family members.

What’s a book?

I still have lots of books. The ones I keep are those I want to go back to (ones I consider very well written) or those that are technical, such as those with medical or nutritional content. I also keep ones I’m likely to want to share with friends.

Too much is disappearing. Usually easier to solve problems when people are in person.

Ah, to curl up with a good book and a hot chocolate. What can I say? I’m a simple woman with simple pleasures.
