I was once told I had to pass a urine test to get an interview. I told the HR person that there were two conditions I had before I’d take a test:
1. I had to have an employment offer in hand contingent only on passing the test.
2. I needed evidence that every member of top management at the firm had taken and passed the same test.
The hiring manager snuck me around HR to do the interview and I passed on the offer. Later I was told I was sort of a legend among employees at the firm for having denied the test.
