Have you noticed the discrepancy? The Ark story is in Genesis. What was declared clean and unclean wasn’t until the time of Moses. How would Noah know how many of what animals he was to take? I know God mentioned clean and unclean, but as far as I remember in Genesis, he didn’t specify.

Not 40 days. If you read the account in Genesis, it’s 40 days and nights of continuous rain, but nearly a full year before leaving the Ark.
Yeah. A year’s worth of food for all those animals and humans.
