There was a Mitchell and Webb radio skit on the BBC about parents visiting a new school. They were offered alcoholic beverages and asked to sit in a banquette. It turns out it’s easier to get licensed as a new school than a new pub.
I used to own a bar. Many small bars I know are non-profit. They’re money pits.
