Here in Ventura County, in sunny SoCal we have these things called Santa Anas, which are hot (90+ deg), fierce (50-90 mph), east winds that have triggered epic fires in the past. This year we are experiencing an “atmospheric river”, bringing epic rains, but in the past we’ve had repeated Santa Anas, which would lead us to wish for summer when it would be cooler. One year (2016 or thereabouts), the hottest day in January (90+) was hotter than the hottest day in August! We SoCalifornians aren’t as foolish as the fellow in the comic—we fire up the grill and have a picnic … or go surfing!

The “hottest” winter and yet the highest heating bill and that’s before the spike in the cost of gas.

Should’ve come to Buffalo for Christmas! Perfect hot cocoa weather. Big old blizzard kept everybody trapped indoors the whole weekend!

Down here in Houston, we have had one of the hottest January’s on record. Today will be a high of around 81 with humidity around 80%. We are supposed to get a cold front tonight which will bring the temps down to the low to mid 60s tomorrow.

Why would he wrap his hot cocoa in blankets? To keep it warm?
