    Evidently, back in the day.. Peacocks were a tasty treat for royalty. And as a bonus there were always a number of helpers ready to pluck.

    Google “oscillated turkey”. They live in Mexico & look almost just like a peacock – very colorful feathers.

    One year I remember it being unusually warm at Thanksgiving and I actually saw a peacock walking around the neighborhood. I know it had come from the nearby zoo, as they had peacocks wandering around loose there.
