It’s a classic problem. Another character is needed to hear explanations, ask questions, or otherwise move the story along… but there’s no logical reason for them to be there.

So, here they are.

Lock the door

I form my opinions of people mostly by how they move. There’s things in how you move that are much harder to hide than words. I knew I’d marry the woman who became my wife seconds after I saw her because she moved like a good person. Been married to her for over 50 years.

Does Susan deserve to be there? She certainly excels at some things…but she’s not hostile, and if she follows you around she must like you and want to learn about/from you, so she’s not a xenophobe.
