Considering Zack’s father died, I guess it’s not inconceivable that Cagney could too. And he wasn’t even around at the beginning of the strip. But he sure became the main character very quickly when he showed up! I don’t think anyone’s ready for him to join Farley in Dog Heaven any time soon…

I thought Cagney was a he,but if he’s a she,that makes sense. In that case, I’ll wait and see, but if Cagney is a he, NOTHING BAD BETTER HAPPEN!!!

I think Cagney is a “he.” I seem to remember a “getting fixed” storyline.
