I have a friend who woks at the jail as a corrections officer. One day he showed me a mug shot of one of our old tormentors. He’s in and out of jail all the time on alcohol- related offences, unemployed and still lives with his mom even though he’s in his forties. Time wounds all heels.
Standing up to a bully? Sounds like a good way to get punched. Staying out of unsupervised areas? Sounds like if you’re a bad guy, you get to go wherever you want. If you’re good, you have to cower and hide out. Adult adivce on bullying is usually stupid.
