back in the day my grandmother was a cook in the cafeteria at my high school. She was a wonderful cook and made the best food….of course that was back when they made fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a hot roll with milk and cookies for lunch. Yes we all grew up with high cholesterol, and high blood pressure but there was seldom any food thrown away, unlike today when my grandkids will not eat the slop they serve at school. They would rather deal with PB&J every day than try to eat that stuff at school. I read a story yesterday on Yahoo about how bad the school lunch program is, nation wide. You can’t force them to eat crap, they would rather do without.

How, oh how I ask, did the school chef get through culinary school?
