Yep, walk on by guy, Cagney is growling.

I remember reading (in the Readers’ Digest, I think) back in the late 1950s about an extended clan (called the Johnsons, I think) who ran that scam. They would insist on being paid up front, but their “resurfacing” consisted of mopping a layer of used motor oil on an asphalt driveway and then vanishing before the home owner realized that they’d been had. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I have a “No soliciting” sign on my door. Some guy came up to my door, rang the doorbell. Yep, he was selling something. I asked him if he could read and he said, “I’m not smoking.”

We have signs posted in our small neighborhood that says “NO Soliciting.” They’re are a few that don’t read the sign. We have the right to call the police on them if they don’t take the warning or become aggressive.

Maybe he’s not soliciting. Maybe she’s jumped to a conclusion.

my ’No Soliciting " sign had little to no effect. My “Trespassers WILL be shot, Survivors will be shot twice” sign seems to be working better.
