I’m reminded of earlier attempts to suggest “just say no.” Didn’t work before .

The polite thing is to ask for a very thin slice, nibble it and exclaim over the wonderful flavor. Anyway, that’s how we did it in the South, when I was a boy.

Unfortunately, you will then be offered the remainder of the cake, wrapped in foil, when you leave.

The polite thing is to accept it. Otherwise, there will be a very prolonged, very polite discussion which will delay your departure for ten minutes. Take the cake and dispose of it later.

Had to deal with this at a funeral repast in Dallas recently. My brother wasted fifteen minutes trying to get out of accepting four wrapped sandwiches when we were saying goodbye. I finally had to nudge him in the ribs and whisper in his ear, “Take the darn sandwiches and thank her or we will never get out of here.”

Yes, take a small piece. And keep you nice figure, it’s a lot healthier than most Americans weight.

If it were true that nothing tastes as good as thin feels, a lot more people would be thin.

As much as I like to be thin, & I’m working hard to get back there, sorry girl, but NO! Great cheesy New York style pizza, soft chocolate chip cookies, and some others taste WAY better than thin feels.

Overeating led to chronic pain and a series of problems. I have to avoid fat, sugar and so many tasty things so, it really isn’t as good as thin feels health-wise.
