Truthfully, buying used books on Amazon is like buying books from thousands of neighborhood book stores. I can find books that I would never have been able to buy before the arrival of the internet. I check the stock of the local used book stores first, and also the library. Of course, even the library doesn’t want to preserve older books (not enough room).
I keep saying I want to buy a Kindle, but somehow never get around to it. The library is the best source, especially for new books, but the newer they are, the less time they give you to read them! I was handed a THICK Stephen King book and given ONE week to read it. That doesn’t work too well and go to work every day too.

This book store will exist until Tom Hanks gets wind of it. Remember You’ve Got Mail.

Maybe neighborhood bookstores could come back as cafes or bars that started featuring books you could read and buy…
