Golden Rod pollen is to large and heavy to cause allergies; though RAGWEED, which flowers at the same time as golden rod has a small and light pollen (as it depends on wind to carry it) that it causes allergic reactions. People think Golden Rod because it has a showy flower compared to ragweed’s dull green, small flowers.
