When we had a bookstore in town, I used to complain that they shelved the sci-fi with the fantasy and witchcraft/vampire/romance novels. They told me that they didn’t have the shelf space to keep them separate. I pointed out that it was nonsense. It wouldn’t take any more shelf space, just put all the sci-fi together, then all the fantasy, etc. instead of mixing them up. Ten feet of books was still ten feet of books no matter what order you put them in within that ten feet of space. They looked at me as if I was speaking in Swahili…
Bah! Toss them around in random order. Then it’s potluck reading; a sort of surprise with every reach. Of course, stumbling on a mystery novel is poetic that way. “What book is this…?”
I was in college before I learned that there were systems other than Dewey. Prior to that, public libraries and school libraries used Dewey. But, the college didn’t.
I recall Get Fuzzy had Bucky develop some idea a few months ago that anyone named Steve is a genius. So maybe this would be great reading material him.

Since there’s a lot of college educated people who can’t spell, read or use common sense, this is the perfect system.

The Dewey Decimal Fictional System was created by the same tricksters who created the announcement stating he won the 1948 election.

I’ve heard rumors where they want to do something like this with libraries.

But you had to be a Librarian to understand it.

Sheldon Cooper and another nerd did something like this with comic books in a store.
