There was a movie I saw not long ago within which a guy was getting cash bribes. He was a key figure within his constituency.
After awhile those weekly bundles of money presented a challenge as to how to deal with all of the cash they were receiving,
They could not bank it, nor even to begin to spend it in any appreciable amount. The safety deposit box offered minuscule space.
They had stuffed envelopes in the closets including in pockets within garments. On shelves. Stuffed in cupboards, everywhere and anywhere they could put it out of sight.
Of course the depiction in the movie was of illegal cash being accepted as being part of an influential office, i.e., his job entailed accepting favors in receipt for granting favors to others. It was a startling awareness of what being part of a criminal empire really entails.
They even had to look at alternatives to cash to shrink the storage space difficulties.
In the end they tried to claim to their friends that it was just a part of being in business. To them it was a burden to carry and yet they must keep it hidden from the law because that money is illegal gains.
It would be exceptionally funny to see just such a situational occurrence actually come to life within our Congressional representatives. So, so funny.
