It was tragic… but they got over it pretty quickly.

Probably should try it before the stool has to go home.

I mean, the whole point of standing on top of a step stool on a manhole cover is to fall off, cry, and then get carried home, isn’t it?

Passerby can’t help but rubberneck at the scene of a horrible accident.

They shouldn’t call it a manhole when women go down there too. It should be called an access hole.

The “hold my beer” force is strong in this one.

This is obviously dated: today it would be on Tiktok, it would be far more dangerous and they would likely be killed in the effort.

That’s one wee step for Alice and one giant leap (backward) for Dill and Benji!

For a little girl who is often a whole circus unto herself, she may not be actual circus material. Dill, on the other hand may have a bright future as the human cannonball, given his experience with the trebuchet.

I hate to see Alice get hurt, but I also love the way she cries – WOOHOOOO, etc.
