I am, unfortunately, not renewing my subscription to the Houston Chronicle because of how the digital version is now being just that—digitized. Sadly, too, I will no longer be able to read my now favorite comic—Red and Rover. Ever since subscribing to the HC, I have really enjoyed reading R&R. Red’s conversations with Rover and Rover’s thoughts which Red can completely understand makes for a delightful repartee between the two protagonists. I will miss you.

No, Rover. It’s just a pointless line.

Red’s busy using nothing.

Today’s Wizard of Id strip is a similar fishing strip with a more alcohol-themed approach as it involves the Wizard and Bung not catching any fish.

I know Red’s feeling! As long as I’m with my Lizzie, happiness is close behind!

Fishing is supposed to be fun even if the fish don’t bite. If it isn’t, you’re doing it wrong!

I cannot remember who said that “The worst day of fishing is better than your best day at work,” but he or she is very right.

I did that, once. I caught the second largest catfish to be caught in Illinois. I also caught more fish than I did with bait. Fish aren’t very smart.
