I’d like to see a story arc featuring Franken-twinkies. Whatever they are.

Oh c’mon. Eaten alive? Succotash is a cooked dish. How do you survive that?? Just simmer down, guys.

So it’s safe to say that those whiny vegetables were sufferin’ succotash!

Some time ago some cartoon mentioned succotash. In the ensuing comments I was surprised by how many people didn’t know what succotash is. I suspect that the farther away you live from Eastern U.S. Native Americans (formerly known as Indians), the less likely you are to know succotash.

Is this story arc based on that study from Tel Aviv University that indicated some plants emit an ultrasonic scream when in distress? No… don’t answer that, as I just realized I just gave credence to a comic story about talking veggies.

And now, my grandson has stopped eating his vegetables. All because this comic strip has him convince that we are hurting the plants. Thanks a lot.

Here’s the deal, we will ask to have our bodies buried as compost to feed the plants once we die.

science has revealed that plants can communicate with each other, and for example if an oak tree drops and acorn and it begins to take root, the tree will move it’s roots aside to let it grow, but if it’s an acorn from a different tree, it will choke the roots

You can always have the meat of the day at the Restaurant at the End of the Universe.FYI: If you have seen the BBC TV version of Hitchiker’s, the actress playing Trillian is married to Doctor Who #5, Peter Davidson, who is the meat of the day. Their daughter Georgia Moffet, married Doctor number 10, David Tennet, after appearing with him in the “Doctor’s Daughter”.

There is real research into plant awareness. But not to this level. See ‘Plant Cognition’ on Wiki for sources.
