That would be funny if it weren’t maddening. This “court” leans so far Trumpward that it’s a wonder they can stand up by themselves.

The Republican Supreme Court is doing everything it can to preclude their cult leader from coming to trial before the election.

This should have been rejected by the court months ago and should have allowed the lower court ruling to stand. Instead, they are attempting to restart the process all over for Trump’s benefit.

SCOTUS is now totally unfair, so unfair and a total disgrace.

Gorsuch totally jumped in to rescue the flailing (you-know-who) lawyer, interrupting Soto with a “Perhaps we need more hearings to discuss and explore this…”

“Oh yeah, yeah, I totally agree, we need a lot more time to explore this…”

The MAGA SCOTUS in (in)action, once again. delay, obfuscate, delay…

It’s OK to prosecute the minions who carry out criminal acts, but not the King who ordered it – who can then prevent that prosecution or pardon his co-conspirators.

It’s called a MONARCHY you dimwit stupid MAGAs!

If the SCCOTUS (Supremely Corrupt Court Of The U.S.) allows presidential immunity, then the very least President Biden should do is order complete audits of all their tax returns, release those audits to the public, and then prosecute as needed.

The maga-republicans on the Court are completely determined to kick the American people in the face just to show they have the power to do it. The only good thing is they’ve completely and publicly abandoned any pretense to objectivity and have exposed their political agenda. At some point, it will be a requirement to ignore this court’s decisions. The court has lost its legitimacy and they’re not even trying to restore it.

SCOTUS has a severe case of MAGA. Caution: activate anger management before continuing.

Google: United States Supreme court Trump leaning

Google: US Supreme Court justices in Trump case lean toward some level of immunity Reuters

The Supreme Court’s conservative justices signaled support on Thursday for U.S. presidents having some level of protection from criminal charges for certain acts taken in office as it tackled Donald Trump’s claim of immunity from prosecution for trying to undo his 2020 election loss.

This is the first time I’ve been to this site. As a conservative the water’s really cold. I don’t think I knew how much you Lefties were counting on getting Trump stopped before the election. Be patient. The wheels of justice grind slowly. November will be here soon enough and a jury of the American electorate will decide the issue.

SCOTUS is just doing what its owners, the Federalist Society + millionaires + the Heritage Foundation, tell them to do. Essentially the six wake up every morning and say “Thank you, sir, may I have another?”

If Trump gets convicted of at least some of the felony charges against him in the NYC case (if not DC and/or GA), he will likely get house arrest at Mar a Lago as opposed to federal prison. If that be the case, his oversized ego will likely keep him in the race (it would be difficult, I would guess, to run from jail). And it would be the voters who will have the final say on Trump in November. I would surmise that independent swing voters would be reluctant to vote for a convicted felon. As for the SCOTUS, my desire is that on January 2025 the White House will remain Democratic and that the Senate Democrats can widen their majority so that when Thomas and/or Alito either fall ill or retire, Biden can appoint Justices to replace them and we can start rebalancing the SCOTUS. Enacting 20 year term limits for Justices and replacing the filibuster with an up and down vote would help too.

    Wisdom rant from Dr. Cox:

We’ve been involved in every ridiculous MAGA-induced panic there is. Poison pills, SARS, West Nile, North Face, South Fork, East River, Ebola, monkey pox, Pop Rocks, toilet snakes, mad cow, kung flu, bird flu, swine flu, dog flu, cat flu, MAGA flu, and, quite frankly, every other flu that you could really only catch if you actually fornicate with the animal it’s named for. And as a parting gift, I will tell you this. Narrow it down to two symptoms: vomiting and diarrhea, because it’s just not MAGA E. Coli unless it’s firing out both exits.

I know the dishonest reactionaries on the Court don’t mind being thought dishonest. What I’m hoping for is they will not like the idea of all intelligent people laughing at them, because what Traitor Trump’s crooked and incompetent lawyers are asking for is legendarily stupid, in addition to evil.

You can lay it all on Mitch McConnell (forever cursed be his name), who abolished the Senate Filibuster for judiciary nominations. Minority rule by the tiny, MAGA-run states are the result, with autocratic Republican crime-family members voting lock-step to appoint unqualified partisan judges at all levels.

An alternate caption from today’s Matt Wuerker cartoon is particularly apt, in which the Founding Fathers discuss the possibility of a dictatorial tyrant assuming the Presidency:

“And of course, if a sociopathic megalomaniac were to become President, someone with no respect for the Constitution, Truth, or even basic civility… or the peaceful transfer of power, we should absolutely grant him total immunity… you know, like a King!

    (hilarity breaks out)

And there are plenty of other adjectives that could have been used, but space was limited.
