Thorax and Gran are sitting on a couch, sipping coffee, and talking to an elderly woman. Thorax says: "During the war my space craft was shot down over France...and I might not be here today but for the valiant resistance, who pieced me back together with purloined Nazi cuckoo clock parts." The sofa-chair where the woman sat is empty and its cushions are disheveled. Gran says: "That's the fastest I've seen her move since she got that pin in her hip."
