Umm. Can somebody help me out with this one? Are Latinos not allowed to vote in some states? Or is he referring to illegal aliens not being allowed to vote?

Fortunately, Latinos can think for themselves, and therefore lean heavily Democrat.

Right. Obama failed to get the Republicans to go along with ANY immigration reform, even their very own good ideas, and therefore Latinos should vote Republican. Right. Maybe a logic course is in order for Howie? The Latinos certainly get it, by a reportedly 49% margin. Ouch. The GOP will never recover until they get rid of their lunatic fringe.

Orthodox Catholic is dedicated to the overturn of Roe v Wade and makes all of his political decisions based on how candidates vote on “Christian” values.. He recently answered my persistent questions and stated imprisonment and/or execution are acceptable penalties for people having and accommodating abortions. I know Latinos who voted the same way as OC for the same reasons. History shows how religion can divide a nation and that is why the founders wrote separation between church and state into the Constitution. We can respect the passion of those who vote like OC. We can understand the paradigm that drives them. We must respect their vocal and political opposition to the causes which repel them as long as they do not use violence or break laws in that expression. Failure to be tolerant invites intolerance. If the Mitt Romney that ran in 2008 and was governor of Mass had kept to those stands regarding the republican introduced Dream act and other Latino issues, Romney would have overcome the narrow margins the kept him from office. Business minded and faith driven Latinos would have given Republicans the Presidency if they had not felt persecuted by the hard right. This election has not been a “failure” as zekedog55 claims as he gloats. He is wrong tho, Republicans are not pathetic and the landscape is going to be the same as it has been the last 2 years. If Americans do not reach across the aisles and respectfully compromise, we are going to remain deadlocked and weakened by a cannibalistic congress more willing to punish voters/constituents than getting the people’s work done.I hope each reader will consider emailing your officials- local, state, and national- and encourage them with your thought out opinions and even ideas you might have. There are some younger folks out there who should consider running for local office with your ideas. When W. Bush won his second term, by a much smaller margin of victory, he said he had a mandate. I hope Obama does not do the same. When we are as divided as we are, we need a uniter, not divisiveness. I hope Obama instructs the Dems in the legislature to be polite to Republicans and compromise where possible. I hope Republicans will realize their hard right message is not reaching independents and move back towards them middle where they can. I am sorry for the pain many of my neighbors have this morning. I know that pain from 2000 and 2004. I hope our elected officials can give us the government we deserve. All of us.Respectfully,C.
