I’m just as bad as anybody else – for instance, if I get a hole in my sock I throw it away – I can get 10 pair at the dollar store for $5.
Learn to make your own socks. Not as hard as you think and well worth the trouble for fit, comfort, and even durability if you use quality sock yarn and take care of them. And you can make them with easily replaceable heel and toe sections. You will not believe the difference in comfort till you try it. All kinds of patterns and instructions on the inter-webs, and you’ll be surprised how many men do this too. Not only is knitting not just for women anymore, but it used to be only men that knit.
