Val: This is NICE. After the bustle of the holidays I can USE a quiet dinner. Phil: Glad I could facilitate that. Val: "Facilitate"? How romantic. Val: We'll have a nice bottle of Merlot to facilitate our mood. Phil: I guess I need a break from WORK as much as you need one from the family.

They need something to ‘facilitate’, they both look ‘bored out of their skulls’ Maybe it has been too long since they have seen one another.

The expression is “My eyes are up here”. He loves her for what she IS, not how she looks. Looks fade. Beauty lasts.

They’re not bored, they’re comfortable with each other. There’s no better test of a relationship.

They both need to relax and enjoy their time in quiet. Then find quiet entertainment.

I hate how words are used so stupidly today. I hate when people who are working for you in some way say, “I’ll reach out to blah-blah-blah for something.” Really? Reach out? Just as bad as “facilitate.” Can’t people say, “I’ll call so-and-so,” or “I’m glad I could do that for you.” The world is mad. (Notice I didn’t say, “going” mad!)

I know it is a comic, but why does Phil have blue hair?

In a cop’s profession, as with a number of others, there is great need to be textually accurate in what one says – thus hopefully avoiding misunderstandings that can have far reaching repercussions.
And it sounds lofty, and lofty can be a total mood killer.

I’m guessing “Bart” is younger. He still looks at the outside package vs the whole package! I’ve found wonderful people both inside and out!

If Val wasnt so intent on being a jerk, she could have returned with how she could facilitate something in return.

If you don’t like someone, love will be a rocky and slippery road.
