It’s just as well they find out that their ideas differ somewhat early on…

Actually I have always dreamed of traveling across country on a motorcycle…..staying in 5 star resorts along the way so I was well rested for the journey the next day….6-7 hours on the back of a bike can be exhausting.

I love road trips also for the same reason he does. I love getting up early and seeing all the sites. As a child I use to take paper and write notes and put them in the back window. Playing car games. It was alot of fun. My dream is to drive all over with my family. Sadly I do not drive so our trips are short.

I love road trips too.One of my favorite vacations was driving through parts of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and stopping in a few of the small towns. The hotel in Paradise was on the waters of Lake Superior-so peaceful and beautiful.

Is she forgetting her daughters? With those two, you couldn’t get a minutes peace and quiet. But it would be ‘hell to pay’ leaving them with Evie—especially if she gets a call from her ‘boyfriend’ to come build houses in Borneo or somewhere.

Val loves road trips. She and her sister took a weekend trip a while back, before the wedding. They discovered a love for hard core country music and Joan had to relieve herself by the side of the road.

I like Phil’s version better. Val’s version seems okay, but I don’t feel too comfortable with all of the people who are typically at those resorts.

Guess we’ll see how flexible each of these characters are! Can Phill get with “all inclusive resorts”? Can Val get with “up early (5:00 a.m.!) jump in the car. Drive till you’re tired out”?

Pu-pu platters are very popular in Chinese restaurants. Think of it as a Chinese antipasto.

I like his idea of a road trip for a few days, followed by her idea of lounging by a pool, massages and then a few more days of his out-of-the-way places on a different route going back home looking for those little seldom noticed places.

There’s a fantastic Mexican restaurant in Port Orchard, Washington. It’s been years since I’ve been there, and I can’t remember the name.

I love road trips. You see how the rest of the country lives and it’s interesting to see how the landscape changes. The last one was a few years ago. I drove from VA to CA and it was great.

My mom and I take a road trip like that (his version) every year. Last year was New England, couple of years before we went to Arizona. Sometimes 1 day, sometimes 2 weeks. Some years we just pick a direction and go til 1/2 way thru our alloted time, then turn around. We have a blast. Have been doing it for 30 years. Now my daughter wants to do one with ME! Keeping the tradition alive! :o)

As well not go on a road trip then. Don’t think Val is all that interested in those quaint stuff found on back roads. She is a working mom – she wants to relax in the sun and do nothing.

When we were children, our parents took us twice on month-long driving trips all around the country. I have some of the best memories of those, and I still love to take road trips. :)

There was a cute double entendre in “A Bug’s Life” with the blowflies and the poo-poo platter!
(Well, cute if you’re an entomologist…)

I like the idea of combining them…small quaint country inns with a clean pool & sunshine….

Did the UP some years ago, late August leading up to Labor Day. Had to go out and by longies , etc. We were camping and had solid frost on the ground in Newberry. Great trip though. A current Samsung Galaxy commercial references PuPu platter!
