Ha! Dad’s a punster! Mine was, too, but he was also a stickler for keeping the refrigerator door closed whenever no one’s arm was inside it actually reaching for something.

Don’t worry, Pops. They won’t get fat until the 2000s along with everybody else. There was still some healthy food out there in 1970.

Just be glad your daughter is a cartoon character, pops. Given that she almost never seems to wear the same thing twice, you’d go broke paying for her wardrobe if she was real!

He does know that you don’t have to enter a contest and win it. They have these wonderful buildings where you can actually buy it.

At my house? White bread, bologna, and American cheese.

What gets me is that her dad is carrying a full sized newspaper, not the magazine sized ones we now have.

Yeh…It must be from 1971. Even United Features made mistakes in those days. So relieved here!!

I did realize to that Emmy Lou never wears the same outfit twice. Ole dad needs to make “bread or dough” to pay for more than sandwiches in that house! My mom always bought the big bag of chips to make our school lunches. Never did get the pre-made chip bags.

Close the refrigerator!
