the next pope, should be a young married woman with kids. someone who lives in the real world, and not fantasy land of 1400s. that praying will not alleviate poverty or disease. that all those old men who covered up abuses should be defrocked. and, close all of their overseas diplomatic missions since they are not a real nation. and, they should admit gays into their congregation and the clergy.

the reason for their opulence is their large amounts of cash they have laying around.

Well, Eddie DID walk on water a couple of weeks ago….

Eddie turned them down because the Vatican doesn’t allow cats. (Where the Pope is going to live they DO allow cats)

Before that, they legalized bribery. And now Reich-winger has dared question their legislation, nor has the corporate media mentioned it. What? Does nobody here remember the run where Eddie is called a messiah for walking back to the diner during low tide and is witnessed by tourists? I figahed when Eddie was involed there would be a guffaw or two involved…..but REALLY??? as short as he is noone would ever see him in the Popemobile….besides as often as he has sunk his ship…..there would be no hope for the Catholic church.

Nor does the ‘power struggle’ as you so delicately put it, exist. You may have more care before you insult over a billion people who believe in this sacred process and that its guided by God, not by greed or politics. (and I am aware that greed and politics have influenced it in dark ages past….PAST!)
