Good morning, Vagabonds. I had a lot of company yesterday. My Turkish friend brought his wife and infant kids to the pool and an Israeli friend also came. I tried to play scrabble in Turkish with my Turkish friend, but he couldn’t concentrate and, I tried to help him with words, but, after few rounds, we gave up.

Five full days before I return to New York.

Morning, Village.Today I’m starting a vacation. We were planning to go to the Bluebonnet Festival in Ennis, Texas, but wife got sick and I don’t think it’s a good idea to get her out in the chilly air. She actually had a touch of pneumonia and still has a bad cough. I think instead we’ll spend most of our time here. I need to install the microwave and range, as well as start on the shoe molding. Got lots to do in that house over the next couple months.

I also got free tickets to Monday night’s Astros game. I answered a questionnaire online about what I thought about the television coverage of the games being canceled for the season and they sent me tickets via email this morning.

    Good Morning, Everyone,

We tried to drive down to Old Faithful today and tomorrow. But, the chance of snow was 70% by 1 p.m., just about the time we would be getting there. We always enjoy going to the park when the roads open, and seeing the bison babies. Looks like we’ll have to wait until we get back from Raleigh next month.

David it sure is exciting hearing how close you are to your big move! Almost there! Take care of that Gal of yours. I know it hurts to miss a Festival like that, but you are so right about not taking her our in the chilly air.

I think it’s really cool to have Scrabble in various languages! What fun. I only wish I learned Polish as a kid. In those days, my folks thought it would be better to only speak English, and my Grandparents only taught us a few words.

@David, I also hope your wife will have a quick recovery.

@Rita, I told my Turkish friends to speak to their kids in Turkish. When they begin school they’ll have a chance to learn unaccented English without losing their ability to know Turkish.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

David, my prayers are with your wife for a speedy recovery. Lots to do at the house, but it will be so worth it!

Arye, I was wondering, do you have a local pool in NYC to continue your treading water exercise?

Rita, good decision to stay out of Yellowstone right now.

Woodworker, we haven’t heard from you………I am assuming that you are okay? I feel for all the folks in the Boston area who have to stay in their homes, in fear for their lives!!!

Right now, they are still looking for the second suspect. I hope those brave police and FBI find him soon!

@Montana Lady: Thank you for your concern. I am OK as I live about 15 miles south of Boston and don’t have a need to go there.I have been running late the past two days and have logged on late with not much to say. I know about as much as you do except that they have Boston and surounding areas pretty much locked down. I also was having trouble accessing gocomics and being able to type any comments.Today is a nice day, partly cloudy, some wind with temps in the 60s. Shorts weather, Whoopy

Woodworker…………….I have a crazy husband……………..he wears shorts year round! Last time he wore long pants was for our younger son’s wedding July 2011. He says “he has blood in his veins”. Silly guy!Glad you are okay!

@Montana Lady: I am not crazy and I don’t wear shorts all year round. I don’t like cold weather, I like from 75 to 85 degrees. The only reason I am wearing shorts today is that when I went to the gym ths morning I was wearing long pants. I didn’t want to take the time to change then, so when I finished up I didn’t bother to change back into long pants. If I went out now I would wear long pants.
