A few years ago, my city cut down some huge old trees in the park where I walk. If, like “Eykis,”* we had a rewind button here on earth, I would rewind back to that time & chain myself to one of the big trees and call the local newspaper on my cell phone. CRANKSHAFT: years ago I admired a woman who lived in the top of a very tall and old tree that was scheduled to be taken down. I think the tree survived. Having spent time cleaning up fallen sweet gumballs from a friend’s yard, I could see taking down a tree of this type, but I’d feel responsible to plant another tree that didn’t drop so much on the ground.
Phantom: I think we put Devil out of the picture because he was injured and wasn’t seen for a while. Is P going to grab both of them and bash their heads together?
Mary Worth: At least two people are having good time unless mother’s idea of one is being nasty.
Mark Trail: The problem still remains, what do you do with Rusty after tournament is over? How do you get away with out killing him?
Crankshaft I can see being upset if the tree were strong and healthy, but this one is diseased and dying. Would he really rather have the tree fall over onto his house or the power lines?Phantom Good to see Devil in such good condition. The last time we saw him, he could barely move.Mary I would have to agree with Arye on this one. Who would want that old battle-axe for an in-law? Of course, Mary will fix things so that she’s sweetness and light, just as soon as she’s finished match-making.

Why a final goodbye now? Maybe she just wants closure, so she can move on. So now, they are not only cheaters, but also kidnappers with the only future option – murder.
