Not sure this is true, although I wish it were. I’m pretty sure that it will be a primary offense to use a cell phone for texting purposes while driving. “But, officer, I was looking at a picture of my friend’s baby; I wasn’t texting. And that light pole was in the wrong place anyway…..”
Given the ‘toon shows the guy facing the woman I’m taking it neither of them are driving. I’m not convinced its a mother and son. I’m open to it being a couple. So I’m willing to say “If you were more interesting than what I can find on the phone I’d look at you more often”. Not all relationships work out. This is a new way to tell “he’s not that into you”
Good luck with that. They outlawed being on the cell phone while driving in NY. I haven’t noticed that it’s changed anything. I’ve also never heard of anyone actually getting a ticket for it.
Driving while on a cell phone has been illegal here for over two years. Roughly 50% of drivers I see driving in town are STILL on their phones, running over sidewalks and using telephone poles for “braking systems”. Interesting that over 90% of citations are still for “speed violations” caught on radar or laser, but less than 5% of fatal accidents occur over 35 mph, or actually in violation of speed limits is even lower than that. MOST accidents, are because of failure to yield right of way, or “distracted” driving, either alcohol (50%), drugs, or cell phones (voice OR texting).
Yeah, well, you know, laws like these are only making it worse for law abiding citizens — exercising their rights under the first ammendment. The criminals will still continue to text and drive. -And, you know, laws like this will ultimately lead to confiscation of all communication devices.

I wouldn’t mind google glass if it didn’t capture video, but since it is, it’s a huge privacy issue.
