Name one thing that Jesus said against homosexuals, contraception, women as priests, and the infallibility of the Pope. Thought so. Bonus question: name one thing that the old testament says about homosexuality that doesn’t reside in a passage full of other dated and cruel “rules” that are completely ignored by modern Catholics, like stoning women and children, selling children into slavery, marrying your rapist, and killing people for moral looseness. Thought so.

Show me a man who says he’s a good Christian and I’ll show you a man who thinks he’s God

I find it interesting that “Christians” who’ve become “radical”, are in the same boat as Muslims who’ve become “radial”, and both have convoluted the teachings of the dudes who first gave them guidance. Mullahs have altered the Quran no less than “preachers” have modified the teachings of Jesus. Of course, if you want REAL BRUTALITY, just go over the laws of Moses in the Torah/Old Testament/pentatuch.

I think its a simple issue of separating church and state. Have a civil/ partnership contract for legal reasons and then a religious marriage for people that want it.

From the CSM:Justice Anthony Kennedy, often the decisive vote in close cases, joined the four more-liberal justices in raising questions Wednesday about a provision that defines marriage as the union of a man and a woman for purposes of federal law.

It affects more than 1,100 statutes in which marital status is relevant, dealing with tax breaks for married couples, Social Security survivor benefits and, for federal employees, health insurance and leave to care for spouses

Strange how some contemporary churches have practicallybuilt a new denomination based on anti-gay bigotry whenso little of the old or new testaments even mention the issueat all.

    “Gays win….. Children lose….Again…”

How exactly (or even roughly) do children lose by allowing gay to marry? What about children who are already being raised by same-sex couples – would you deny them the possibilty of having married parents?

Yes, that and a thousand other things. Marriage is not just a religious institution. I think it should be, but its also a civil contract and falls in the crack of church and state.
