I’m a little concerned about Marg, Don said they came home from their fishing trip and she has a “red snapper”……I’m not sure what that means but anyway…..The neighbors are probably tired of seeing the Pennys.Good Morning All

Yeah…. to get the city to plant a tree on, or in front of, your property, sometimes you have to agree to pay a small fee, and to feed and water it when young…

The Pennys’ neighbors have a small fund going, and a secret agreement spelling out who cares for the trees, and when.

They asked for something fast growing, but Crustwood policy now is to plant only small urban species…

So the fund-raising has been stepped up, in order to request a tree a year, which is the limit.

Contributions may be sent to Penny Tree Fund, c/o the Crustwood Heights Country Club Association.

Leaky….I’m not exactly sure either …

I asked my pharmacist, and he didn’t want to talk about it…except to say they have meds nowadays that’ll clear it right up.

Let’s see, a Red Snapper could be an Irish Catholic Communist Baby. Or it could be one of the best eating fish to come out of the Gulf.If I were the Penny’s neighbor, I wouldn’t ask for a tree, I’d ask for one of those solid concrete sound walls they put alongside freeways, etc.

A privet fence they grow fast and invasive plants but thick and hard to get rid of. Chop the roots you have doubled the plant. A good hedge plant though to block the view of the pennies……

My last neighbor back in IL had such a messy yard. I got their permission to plant a row of 6 arborvitae trees on thier side of a chain link fince that was actually on my side of property line. Not quite as big as these, but I also agreed to keep them watered (to sell my house).

Arrrrgh I’m having computer trouble! Couldn’t get on yesterday at all and today the site asked me to sign in and then didn’t recognize my password! Leaky, the term “Red Snapper”, according to my husband, cannot be printed in a public newspaper, so it shall remain mysterious! He wouldn’t tell me. I think a 10 foot tall brick wall is the best bet, however you could probably wr ite a nice thesis on the Pennys for a sociology class. Maybe the neighbors could call the local college and rent out space in their window for a classroom.

I have Nandinas all along my back fence so I don’t have to look at the yard behind me (renters that don’t always keep up the yard). It’s a chore to keep them manageable. Trim in the spring and cut way back in the fall or they’ll take over.

Next door neighbor had cut old privet down to ground (said it was too much work to maintain, so I convinced him to accept the arborvitae because they keep shape without trimming. I found plans and photos that I used when I sold (realtors then did not provide that). I lived there over 30 years and raised 4 kids (and a husband) in the tiny house. I removed address info from my RE brochure and will share next time

(and I see that I actually gave him 9 trees). I think they’re still OK, forgot to check on that last time we drove by (my kids like to visit the neighborhood)
