We have three dog parks in my area. They are divided into large and small dog areas. Many people pay no attention to this and put their dogs in whichever one they please. There are also many signs requiring owners to supervise their pets to discourage aggression. Many people ignore these signs. When their dogs aggression is pointed out to them, they claim that their dog is “just playing”. Most of these people are there to socialize with their dog-owning friends, and simply ignore their dogs and their behavior. The dog parks are now generally deserted except for the inconsiderate dog owners who now treat the parks as their personal parks. The city claims that they can’t do anything about it, since they can’t afford to staff the parks to enforce the rules.Oh, did I mention that the unruly owners are all black?
