If we rush in, they’re likely to hate us for interfering and occupying. If we don’t, they’re likely to hate us for not helping. If they hate us anyway, let’s support the troops and not send them there. We’ll save money, too.
Now that it’s becoming clear that Assad’s (no he’s not a nice guy either) opposition is more and more “ultra-conservative” Muslims, the righties are getting their diapers in a wad. The simple fact is there is only one American sensible response on Syria, not matter what: STAY OUT OF IT!
“Supposedly Sadam shipped all of his Nerve Gas to Syria before the US invasion”In the interest of leaving the conservatives alone here, I’ll point out that that story was almost certainly false. A retired Iraqi general claimed a couple guys told him they flew the WMDs to Syria, but no one has found those guys.Assad was Iran’s ally & Saddam’s enemy. There’s virtually no chance Iraq gave WMDs to Syria.
“It would be stupid to attack Syria if they use chemical weapons on their own people, it could light up the mid-east.”If Assad gets caught using chemical weapons in a major way, I suspect the Arabs & Turkey will get off the fence in deal with him. The U.S. should not & need not lead a ground war in Syria.

we should just let Syria mind it’s own bissiness. All we do is go make enemies. That’s a lose-lose thing.
