    If only horticulturalists would cross the lemon or orange trees with the osage orange that grows so well in the Midwest. In general, they should cross many food crops with wild plants that would have the vigor of, for instance, dandelions and crabgrass. We would have easily available food instead of ones that require extra fertilizer, water, and weeding. Just a thought Frisbee, here.

    emptc12: You are right about hedges though. Collect the “horseapples”, cut into quarters, plant along the needed row. When they get big enough to touch, tie branches together in a natural barbed wire fence. In a few decades you will have a hedge even a Cullin device on a Sherman tank can’t break, unlike the hawthorn hedgerows of Normandy.
