Thanks to the furloughs, we now get 100% unproductivity for only 80% of their salary! What a bargain!

I guess it depends on which government agency, because it’s certainly not the one I work at (local government law enforcement). No raise for 4 years, increasing health insurance costs which means less take home pay, budget and personnel cuts across the board – more like we do the work of 2 people for the price of 1. Hard to work in the public sector these days.

Cheap shot. I work part-time for a local community mental health facility and these people work incredibly hard. And all I can ever hear is how anyone who works for the government is lazy and stupid, which is completely untrue. I have done enough work with corporations, including Fortune 500s, where the waste and stupidity is amazing. Any large organized activity with develop inertia and waste. Shall we remember Enron?

Goes to perception of government workers. as those as takers, living a no-risk lifestyle. Would be refreshing to see school system teach entrepreneurship, how to create a small biz start-up. What’s wrong with more government workers ( employees) in general, striking out on their own in bizz, instead of taking from John Q taxpayers???
