Gerold Weschenmoser, of Starzach, Germany, has a collection of more than 5300 different masks! Dragonflies may be nature's most efficient killers- 95% of their hunts are successful. In 1949, baseball fan Charley Lupica spent 117 days up a 16 foot flagpole on top of his store hoping to inspire his team, the Cleveland Indians- even missing the birth of his child!

and they don’t need ovens to cook their prey (like to see someone track a dragonfly for one hunt, let alone 100)…

Regardless of all those masks, Gerold probably couldn’t elude a dragonfly.

sooo, finally , in 1954, the Cleveland Indians were the class of major league baseball, winning a record 111 games during the season.then the NY Giants swept them in the series 4-0.what with the Browns who could have made it to the Super Bowl except for ‘the drive’ by Elway and the Broncos, and the Cavs getting the LBJ, which didn’t exactly pan out…. my heart goes out to Cleveland fans whose sports teams never seem to quite do it all……oh well, at least they had Jim Brown and that one NFL title in ’64

The Detroit Tigers have a better success rate, however. They have won the World Title 4 times since they first took the field in 1901.

I want to see the research that showed that dragonflies are successful 95% of the time. Seems odd when most carnivores aren’t nearly that good.
