It makes sense that Junior and Diet Smith are referring to her as Moon Maid, given that that was the name familiar to the general public (only family and friends would refer to her by her actual first name).And I’m sure we’ll see when Sparkle – and Moon Maid’s note – are found.
The police haven’t been looking for Mysta, they’ve been looking for a mysterious woman calling herself “Moon Maid”. Also, Junior still isn’t sure that this gal is the same woman he married, so I can understand him not calling her by that name.
There is a powerful film entitled Take Shelter (2011). It stars Michael Shannon as a man whom we are led to believe is either mentally ill or having prophetic dreams and visions. The screenplay walks a tightrope between crazy (fake) or sane (real). As the story progresses, the evidence increasingly suggests that the man is mentally ill. Only in the final minutes of the film does it become clear that the man is indeed sane: his visions were prophetic. Everything that has preceded the closing scene is cast in a startling new light.Why mention this on the Tracy discussion board? Draw your own conclusions.
I usually read the posts before I do myself … and probably someone may have said this already, but Joe has given Junior a very mature and distinguished look (a good look). I hope Sparkle has recovered and handling this okay. Cannot wait for tomorrow. … now to read the posts!
What happened to that “4 week limit” on stories? A lot more interesting ones than this have been truncated. The moon era was never that interesting in the sixties.
I think Junior looks exactly as he should. Very frazzled, tired, etc. Even his clothes don’t seem to fit, as if he’s been losing weight. He’s been under a TON of stress lately and with all that’s been going on with his family, I feel sorry for him.
As for Junior’s appearance, since Staton and Curtis, I’ve thought he looks a lot like Archie on a Bart Simpson hair day! Which may sound “snarky,” but, all things considered, having seen the referenced clips, it is a fantastic improvement over the Fletcher, Collins, and Locher renditions. (It was Junior’s present appearance that got me wondering about the Archie connection in the first place)
I’m not really sure why everyone is so obsessed about DNA. I don’t see how it could be useful unless they had a sample of Moon Maid’s DNA from before the explosion. Why would anybody have that?
