I’ve needed glasses since I was in the fifth grade, but just plain refused to wear them. Hubby got me contacts the year after we were married, and I wear them pretty much all the time.
Got my first pair around the age of 13, got tired of being called “4 eyes”, so I went to contacts which I wore until about 4 years ago, when I got tired of putting them in every morning (gas permeable) and found it easier to just slap the glasses on my face and go. And they make some really pretty frames these days.

Yes for distance. Anything up close I can see without issue.
