She may suddenly get her memory back when she sees them.

I guess Junior is there to take pictures of the granary to use in an illustration of one of Dick Tracy’s more interesting capers.

Holy coincidence, Sparkle-Gertie!Will Junior jog her memory? Will Honeymoon rescue her Mom-in-fact? Will Sparkle-Gertie mention all that’s gone on at Wheaton Farm? Or will two ships pass in the night?

……just have a feeling……that while it looks as though Ghote is going to be eliminated; I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Mike gives it a twist and Dr. Sail takes the fall – and a bullet – instead since he’s basically the one running that end of the show…..

heck, you’d think Sparkle would have an “odd feeling” about most everything lately, lol.

In answer to my own question yesterday, the March 12, 2011 strip definitely says the granary collapsed .

not to nitpick but.. when sparkle and nellie went to th eold granary and found moon maid lite, they took a pick up truck cause it was a good distance away. so unless sprkle suddenl;y developed telescopic vision, it seems the old granary moved quite a bit closer to the wheaton’s house.

on a related note,…judging from what i read (which admittedly isnt much) and from what others have said on here, i find ithumourous that dr mordred would be considered “one of tracys most dangerous villains”

now, someone help me out here but… when tracy faced off with mordred, wasnt there, like.. NOBODY around at all?? youd think that if the granary was as close to the wheatons house as it looks in todays strip, pops wheaton or nellie woulda seen SOMETHING, despite it being “the storm of the century” dont ya think?

I will say it again, I hope this story never ends, I love how it goes back and forth and winds in and out, like the grand old days of Dick Tracy…hope the writing team has another great one lined up after this.

To quote Charlie Brown: RATS!.So, we’re back to the rats!.tsull2121: You’re right! Since when was anything close to the granary?.And Ray Toler and others: More than once I have heard the complaint of Tracy’s character flaws showing in the Dr. Mordred arc, the last Dick Locher story before Staton and Curtis took over..Are rats Dick Tracy’s “kryptonite,” or is something else going on that I missed?.Wonder if we’ll be seeing rodents again anytime soon….Or Rhodent (summer 1959) for that matter…

Tracy may have been cowardly, but Mordred was more so. It was Mordred who was so afraid of rats that he wasn’t able to save himself from drowning.

The first paragraph in my comment above is a copy-and-paste of tsull2121’s comment. The next two paragraphs are my answer. I thought they would separate more.

I see the recasting of the Mordred debacle as evidence of immense generosity of spirit on the part of Staton and Curtis. At a practical level, it gets Junior within shouting distance of Sparkle. Like so many others, I am loving this multifaceted story.

Rhodent is very definitely dead, burned in his car after a collision with a train. But maybe Dr Sail cloned him, too…

Although I have made fun of the rats, I do think that weaving the old granary into another story is a good idea and firms up the idea that the Tracy universe is consistent.

Note the brave expression on Tracy’s face as he confronts rats while Mordred is begging to be saved:

I’d forgotten about the Granary storyline. I wasn’t crazy about the Dick Locher years, but that was really one of the best, including Chester Gould and Max Allen Collins.

One more thing: Mysta apparently spent the night at the old granary ruins and apparently didn’t see any rats, so I guess the rats have moved on in the meantime. There is probably nothing left for them to eat there.

Now now Mikeyj, perhaps you should look at the latter part of Friday’s comments before judging me too harshly!^^Hey, buddy, you know I like you, but, you need to quit it with the “LOL” comments, they make you look immature, thus the “bubba” thing ;) You have the intelligence to make good well-thought-out comments, so, why do the trollish thing?

The only thing learned from the Dr. Mordred arc was NEVER let Tracy take the wheel after he’s watched The Dukes of Hazzard within the past 30 days. And DON’T EVER expect SDP’s new watch to run slow, …. especially, after Daisy Duke reruns are still on.

Actually they used Number 2 son and Number 3 son with Sidney Toler. Sen Yung played Number 2 son Jimmy and later played Hop Sing.
