@NightGaunt, the scandal at the IRS is that conservative groups were harassed and essentially filibustered during the 2011 and 2012 election cycles while liberal groups were passed through or at least given an up or down decision. The Inspector General’s report revealed a targeting of conservative groups. We just don’t know why. If it was ordered by the president it’s bad enough. If it was systemic it’s even worse. Remember the only substantive difference between a 527 and 501©4 is that the former needs to publish a list of donors. Both get the same tax treatment.
